I-catcher Console - Web Monitor -free

google does not open ...

the colleague of a friend in common with Silvia (sometimes I like to do these turns of phrase: P) and 'a strange thing happened ... could open around the world on the internet but could not open Google !

But look at the facts:
Hardware: iMac (I think ...)
OS: Mac OS X (I checked the version, if I am not mistaken it was a smaller version to 10.6.3, but not the Leopard )
Browser: Safari (Version 4)
reported an error: (104) Connection reset by peer

That conclusion made you these symptoms? Exactly! Problems with the DNS ... not by force?
bear out the theory by directly using the IP address of google (eg like this 74.125.43.147) try to play around with various configurations:

- checking the IP addresses of the DNS;
- Deleted the cache of your browser;
- Deleted DNS cache with lookupd- flushcache (to 10.5 for major versions and use the command ' dscacheutil-flushcache )

Nothing to be done. Google does not want to know! Last

beach, perhaps a forced redirection added to the file "hosts"? Check the file (/ etc / hosts) but nothing ... no redirect ...

At this point neglect.
After all, are not very knowledgeable about the Apple world.
I never used in my life and a Mac OS you can not 'know everything in life (unfortunately).

The next day we hear that finally the problem 'was solved! The coach company has found the key to the problem ... What was it?

Google Desktop! Uninstalled et voila '. Google opens!

(redirected searches inside the machine, of course, locally there is no 'install google, who knows' why' and then, probably hacking on its configuration could be discovered.)

really absurd ... and think that there was some doubt come ... maybe 'was installed some software that is blocking google? But by no ... and 'the DNS ... sure!

I learned something new, at least that.
